The Propeller Club of Port Canaveral recognized the 2025 Scholarship Winners and the Rockledge High School HELM Maritime Studies graduating Seniors at a recent luncheon meeting. HELM Program Director and Teacher, Emily Dyer, spoke about the program and students gave highlights from the last year and their plans after graduation. School Board member John Thomas was on hand to help recognize and congratulate the students. Propeller Club Education Committee Chairman Rocky Johnson thanked the Canaveral Port Authority and all of the HELM Program partners in the Port Community who support the HELM program and contribute to its huge success. He noted the high quality of scholarship applications received this year and recognized the Education Committee members and Scholarship selection team for their efforts. Propeller Club President Josh Hester presented a check for $4500 to Ms. Dyer as the club’s annual contribution to the program.
The Propeller Club is a business network dedicated to the promotion of the maritime industry, commerce and global trade. They help foster relationship building and communication among Port Canaveral stakeholders, maritime industry, local businesses and the broader community. The Club hosts monthly luncheons that feature guest speakers (open to the public); and host special events: the annual ShrimpFeast; July fireworks dinner; and an annual Christmas Party.
