What is transitions coaching and how does coaching benefit you personally and professionally?
It is not unusual to regularly feel as if you keep repeating patterns, having the same work issues or life issues. Repeat patterns occur when you regularly find that you are unable to sustain a relationship or you get the same or very similar feedback at work. You start to doubt yourself, lose confidence and cycle downward rather than taking control of your life, making intentional decision that may lead to success, defined in ways that you decide.
Understanding and having the awareness of why these patterns continue is the most important prerequisite to having the ability to make change. Change is impossible if you are not aware of the fact that something can or needs to change. It is not just a matter of removing a problem; there needs to be an understanding of how to make changes and how you take action.
There are several science-based assessments used in coaching that have historically focused on measuring the cognitive (IQ) and the affective (personality) parts of the mind. While this can be helpful, they only offer a partial picture of a person’s full potential. Understanding how instincts combine with intelligence and personality will help you create and maintain a less stressful work/life environment and provide you with more satisfaction while being more productive.
When you can identify the talents you have and the instinctive strengths you hold, research has shown that your natural creative instincts shape how you accomplish tasks and solve problems. This knowledge allows you to become more confident in maximizing your strengths to reap the benefits of transforming regular destructive behaviors into more productive responses, ultimately improving personal and workplace relationships and results.
The more volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous our environments become, the more critical it is to move beyond old destructive patterns and engage in responsive or agile ways of approaching complexity to achieve success. Each day, we’re called upon to make progress faster, while pivoting on short notice. To stand firm in our ideas while remaining open to new perspectives. Staying agile demands that we develop and use our emotional intelligence, a level of sophistication that we’ve never demanded before. Sound daunting? It doesn’t have to be.
When you discover an agile approach to interactions and learn to navigate outside of your comfort zone, you become empowered to meet the demands of any situation. You will discover the instinctive mindsets that shape responses and interactions, recognize opportunities to stretch beyond what comes naturally and take action to become more agile in their approach to social and emotional situations. Combining this an understanding of your natural instincts will help remove destructive patterns holding you back and help you to find new ways to transform and transition your life!
