2023 Space Coast Symposium August 25th

Change…it is happening at such an incredible pace that the average person may find it difficult to keep up with advancements in the areas of science, technology, aerospace, transportation, communications, and more. The Greater Palm Bay Chamber is bringing together some of the most cutting-edge and powerful innovators of industry with the 5th Space Coast Symposium on August 25th from 8-12:30 at the Space Coast Convention Center located at 301 Tucker Lane in Cocoa, FL. This year’s themes are Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence/Augmented Reality.

Chat Gpt is a hot topic, and Terrance McMahon will present a keynote talk on how to Launch Chat Gpt in 30 minutes.  He is providing a copy of his book “The One Hour Book: How to Write Your Book in Record Time Using Chat Gpt” to every attendee.  This new intelligence seems easy to use, but the quality of your questions determines the quality of its response.  Learn how to use this powerful tool more effectively.

One of the unique features regarding the Space Coast Symposium is the ability for the audience to ask questions of the keynote and panel speakers. This very interactive event has lots of breaks included so participants can have personal conversations with these industry leaders.  There are plenty of vendors displaying information about their company, POC TSgt Priddy with Patrick Space Force Base is bringing their robotic dog that will walk through the crowd showcasing how robots have progressed, and the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design at Florida Tech is bringing their portable hologram and some interactive technologies.

Representing artificial intelligence and augmented reality are several companies.  Jennifer Corso, Sales Manager of Lake Nona Wave Hotel, will discuss how their hotel being in the metaverse has impacted their customer’s experience with the hotel long before they ever check in. Corey Cook, Senior Program Manager, Advanced Logistics Technologies and Concepts for Lockheed Martin, will discuss the space industry as Orion is set to take astronauts back to the moon. Pamela Foster, SunTrax Strategic Development Manager, will discuss how the Florida Department of Transportation is leading the country with their innovative testing for the development of emerging transportation solutions with a focus on autonomous, connected, and electric vehicles (ACES). Dr. Neil Finkelstein, Chief Operating Officer at the National Center for Simulation, which is a nonprofit trade association, will discuss how they became a leader in promoting, protecting, and growing the modeling, simulation, and training (MS&T) community.

Richard Coupland III, Vice President of Municipal Sales for Republic Services, which is one of the largest waste removal companies in the country, will discuss their focus on sustainability. They have electric garbage trucks, a polymer center and are using landfill gas. Vaya Space reuses plastics to fuel orbital launch vehicles and has an eco-friendly and safe propulsion system called STAR-3D. Stephen McCall, Director of Government Relations & Regulatory for Firefly Aerospace, will focus on their company’s rockets that leave a smaller carbon footprint.
