New Thrift  Store Now Open in Melbourne

Love is a Verb Ministry was founded in 2018 by Doris Golindano. The inspiration behind the Ministry came from Doris raising her 4 Children on her own. Even though she was a professional working as a Social Worker, she could not make ends meet. She had many community resources but was not eligible for not one. She was forced to get an evening job as a Server and held 5 jobs for over 10 years, working six days and six nights, with Sundays off to spend time with her children. With the help of God, she made it through, and today, she has 4 grown children who help with the Ministry.

Love is a Verb Ministry is a Faith Based 501-c.3 Non-Profit Agency whose Mission is to Equip, Empower, and Educate the Single Mothers and Children in Brevard County. Providing them with the forum, skills, and resources needed to live a life full of Purpose, Hope and Joy.

Since the beginning, the Agency has served hundreds of Single Moms in our community with medication co-pays, bus passes, car repairs, dental work, diapers, formula, clothing, furniture, and much more. We are currently serving over 50 Single Moms and their children. What makes us different than other Agencies is that our moms are stable in their own homes/apartments. We prevent them from homelessness by providing them with Life Skills classes, counseling, and resources.

We are happy to announce that on Monday, August 2nd, we will be having our Grand Opening for our new Thrift Store located at 311 N. Babcock St. in Melbourne starting at 10 a.m. The store will give us a forum for classes, space for our new office, and the ability to continue to provide resources to our single moms and children in need.

* Spotlight Magazine each month will be offering complimentary pages for our local charities and non-profits within our community so we may introduce or reintroduce their organizations to our readership. Should you or know of an organization that we can be of help with, please email us for requested information on the word count and other things needing to pull these pages together. Spotlight Magazine is a monthly publication; anticipating more submissions than we have issues each year, so articles submitted will also be placed on our website.
