What are two world famous artists doing in Melbourne Florida?

Lucky for Melbourne, the Artistic directors for Melbourne City Ballet Theatre, Artem Yachmennikov and his wife Ekaterina Vaganova Yachmennikova call Melboure home. He is a former principal dancer for San Francisco Ballet and soloist at the Bolshoi and Marinsky theatres, Ekaterina is a three-time world champion ballroom dancer and former Dancing with the Stars Italy season regular for five years. They are both passionate and accomplished and are working to create a powerful dance company that is quickly becoming an integral part of the cultural arts scene on par with any major city. They have a school Melbourne City Dance Center (MCDC) where many forms of dance and performance classes are available and a not for profit ballet company Melbourne City Ballet Theatre(MCBT) where they strive to make dance dreams come true.

In December they will produce the Swan Lake for the first time in Brevard at the King Center for the performing Arts. Dancers have been working since August and come from all over the area. MCBT holds open auditions for the community and have dancers ages 3 and up participating. Over 70 dancers this year will share the stage with 55 dancers from the National Ballet Theatre of Odessa at the King Center December 27, 28 2019. MCBT is doing groundbreaking work with student dancers sharing the stage with some of the very best dancers in the business. Accompanying this powerful cast is a live symphony Orchestra under the direction of Patrick Phillips of Satellite Highschool.

This symphony is making history as a student group of musicians accompanies a world-famous troupe. It is simply amazing to hear the music and realize all the time and effort these students have put into making the production a success. Everyone comes together for the performance of a lifetime. Last year’s Sleeping Beauty was a triumph of dance and music. Swan Lake Dec 27, 28 at the King Center is certain a spectacular experience for Brevard County. MCBT is a groundbreaking company and their passion translates into amazing entertainment in our own backyard Swan Lake Dec 27,28 at the King Center for the performing arts. Tickets Kingceter.com
